Route Assessment

The Route Assessment Rapid Solution is designed for use by teams who are charged with moving relief supplies or coordinating the general movement of convoys through a potentially hostile area. Groove Virtual Office\′s core capability of providing mobile, offline usage allows tactical capture of road information that can be used for convoy planning. This solution enables multiple organizations to capture and share route security information across organizational boundaries. Additionally, it provides the capability, via Groove\′s new Enterprise Data Bridge, to broadcast security information to several centralized geo-spatial information systems.

• Use Route Assessment to capture and share road conditions and security incidents amongst a distributed relief, supply, or convoy planning team. The tool includes two forms and multiple views:
  
  
  • Road Segment Assessment facilitates the capture and sharing of actual route conditions and provides for assessment depending on season and vehicle type. The Road Segment Assessment view sorts these records by assessment date.
    
    
  • Security Incidents collects security incident information which can be shared across a diverse set of constituencies. Use the following views to see these records:
    
    
    • Security Incidents by All shows all incidents sorted by date of incident.
      
      
    • Security incidents by Type groups and tallies all incidents by incident type (e.g., hijacking, robbery, etc.).
      
      
    • Security Incidents by Broadcast only displays incidents that have been marked for "Broadcast". Broadcasts are defined as incidents to be shared with some external system (such as a GIS system) using Groove\′s Enterprise Data Bridge (EDB).
      
      
• Use Route Planning to markup electronic maps when determining convoy routing.
  
  
• Use Route Info to disseminate important maps and satellite imagery for offline usage.
